Human Trafficking Prevention in Niagara: Learn what you and your employees need to know!
Human trafficking remains a significant and often hidden issue in the Niagara Region, affecting individuals and communities in profound ways. This interactive webinar will provide essential insights into the scope of the problem, featuring background information and up-to-date statistics shared by a representative of the Niagara Regional Police Service. The session will also include an overview of the draft Code of Conduct for Human Trafficking Prevention in the Niagara Region, an industry-driven project developed by TOES Niagara and Brock University, with funding from WAGE Canada. This Code sets proactive standards for the Niagara hospitality and tourism sector, with support from allied sectors, to prevent human trafficking and protect vulnerable populations. Participants will gain an insight and share feedback on the proposed responsibilities, preventative measures, and actionable steps to address this critical issue. This is an invaluable opportunity to have yourself and your employees be part of the creation of a code developed by and for Niagara to be a safe community.
