Medical clinic opens in Port Colborne amid pandemic

Niagara South Family Medicine set up on second-floor of Boggio Pharmacy expansion

Sitting in his second-floor office, Dr. Jeff Remington had a great view of demolition work going on below him last week in Port Colborne.

Being torn down was the former Medical Associates of Port Colborne clinic, at 97 Charlotte St., home to doctors Kelly Lynn Maracle and Jason King.

Though their building is gone, the two medical practitioners aren’t too far away from their old home.

They are just down the hall from Remington, separated by a doorway that marks the distinction between their practice and his Niagara South Family Medicine clinic.

“We moved in early April,” said Remington, who moved back to the city in 2017 after spending a few years in the Kitchener-Waterloo area.

Remington had been working in the office of Dr. George Rungi, taking over his Catharine Street practice.

Including himself, Niagara South Family Medicine clinic, at 200 Catharine St., consists of physician assistant Laura Bettger, and doctors Joe Fraelic and Deborah Wilkes-Whitehall.

They, along with theMedical Associates team, are on the second-floor expansion of Boggio’s Pharmacy, construction of which started last year.  READ MORE
