About McFarland House

For more than two centuries, McFarland House has stood as a monument to the impeccable demeanor and gracious living that epitomizes Niagara-on-the-Lake. Built at the turn of the 19th century by Scotsman John McFarland, the home was used as a military hospital during the War of 1812 by the Americans and the British. Today, costumed interpreters provide guided tours of this historic home with several events hosted throughout the year. McFarland House is the oldest property in Niagara Parks.
