The red ponchos worn by passengers on Hornblower Niagara Cruises to protect from the elements are now being used to protect front-line workers in the fight against coronavirus.
Niagara Health recently reached out to the popular Niagara Falls tourist attraction, asking for a sample of the high-density polyethylene ponchos for use at its hospitals.
“We put a box of them together for them right away,” said Mory DiMaurizio, vice-president and general manager at Hornblower Niagara Cruises.
“They tried them and found they were adequate for their purposes and then asked for a good quantity more.”
