ICYMI: Lunch & Learn: Building Pathways to Employment and Stability

On January 20th, we gathered for our Lunch & Learn featuring “Building Pathways to Employment and Stability“, a discussion on how collaboration between municipalities, unions, and community partners is creating real opportunities across Niagara. Developed in partnership with the Niagara Region and CUPE Local 133, the Level Up Program was highlighted as a first-of-its-kind municipal initiative designed to support single parents on Ontario Works through temporary employment, mentorship, and access to community resources.

The session featured insights from Jason Burgess, Chief Administrative Officer for the City of Niagara Falls, along with Lori Watson, Director of Social Assistance and Employment Opportunities at the Niagara Region. Together, they shared how Level Up is helping families regain stability and independence, while offering practical takeaways on how local businesses can support and adopt similar workforce development initiatives.
