| Niagara Falls, ON — In preparation for the 44th annual Winter Festival of Lights, work is underway at Dufferin Islands to install lighting displays. The work will continue through Saturday, November 14, ahead of the festival’s opening.
Traffic Considerations
Now through November 14
Motorists should expect periodic road closures within Dufferin Islands while the installation work required for the Winter Festival of Lights is completed. While road closures are in effect, parking areas will also be closed and guests are asked to avoid work zones.
November 14 to Spring 2027
Access to Dufferin Islands via Burning Springs Hill will remain closed to traffic at Portage Road throughout the annual Winter Festival of Lights from November 14, 2026 and will reopen in spring 2027.
The interior walking trails and pedestrian bridges will remain open, allowing foot traffic to continue moving through the area.
