COVID-19 HEALTH & SAFETY PROTOCOL COMPLIANCE

Public Health and Business Licensing have been liaising with the Ministry of Labour, Trades and Skill Development around bringing in a provincial team to help conduct an COVID-19 education and enforcement campaign. It has been confirmed that this team will be in Niagara from Dec. 14-16. Provincial Offences Officers will visit hundreds of local businesses, to provide guidance on how to operate safely and comply with COVID-19 prevention requirements outlined in the Reopening Ontario Act. Businesses to visit have been identified using intelligence learned by Business Licensing as well as patterns identified in Public Health’s contact tracing. This campaign will support the current efforts by our police, municipal by-law officers and public health inspectors.

To date, this campaign has resulted in visits to over 1,000 businesses in communities across Ontario including Hamilton, Waterloo, York Region, Middlesex-London and many more.
